Cheeseburger

Ingredients

  • 2 Lbs Ground Chuck
  • 1 Tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 12 Slices American Cheese
  • 6 Large Buns

To Garnish:

  • Ketchup
  • Mayonnaise
  • Thousand Island Dressing
  • Sliced Red Onion
  • Sliced Tomatoes
  • Sliced Pickles
  • Fresh Lettuce Leaves

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, onion powder, salt and pepper until just combined.
  2. Divide into six portions and form patties.
  3. Smooth out any cracks using your fingers.
  4. Make these right before you grill them, so they stay at room temperature.
  5. Preheat your grill, grill pan or cast-iron skillet to high heat and add burger patties.
  6. Cook until the crust that forms on the bottom fo the burger releases from the pan.
  7. When burgers lift up easily, flip, add two slices of cheese to each.
  8. Cook on other side  for another 2-3 minutes for medium to medium rare.
  9. Remove burgers with a sturdy metal spatula and transfer to a plate.
  10. Allow to rest for several minutes.
  11. Transfer to buns.
  12. Garnish as desired and serve immediately.
