1. In a medium skillet over medium-low heat, heat oil.
2. Add garlic and cook until lightly golden, 2 to 4 minutes.
3. Remove garlic from heat and let cool.
4. In a bowl, toss together tomatoes, basil, vinegar, salt, and red pepper flakes.
5. Add garlic and oil from skillet and toss to continue.
6. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
7. Toast bread: Preheat oven to 400F.
8. Brush bread on both sides with oil and place on a large baking sheet.
9. Toast bread until golden, 10 to 15 minutes, turning halfway through.
10. Let bread cool for 5 minutes.
11. Rub tops of bread with halved garlic cloves.
12. Spoon tomatoes on top of bread just before serving.
